The Han Wa is a representation of Han Dynasty traditions. Ancient Han Dynasty jars inspired the pot's overall shape, with the little bridge on the lid resembling a roof tile of ancient Chinese buildings.
A classic, circular style of Yixing zisha teapot, the wide mouth makes it easy to get your tea leaves into the pot, with the wide body allowing for great movement and expansion of the tea leaves as they are being steeped. The wide and flat bottom also provides a sturdy base for the teapot. Ideal for larger leaf tea varietals or rolled Oolongs where the leaves expand quickly.
Usage and care:
Rinse and season the teapot before use. Here's a quick guide to show you how. As the clay is porous and teapot is unglazed, dedicate one tea type per pot (or if you wish to take it to the next level, dedicate only one tea per pot). Hand-wash only with water and NEVER EVER wash with soap or detergent. The last thing you want is soapy suds flavouring your next brew.
